Touchscreen App
Bees in Peril
New Media Design III // Semester III // Case Study
Tasked with creating an informative touchscreen application, this touchscreen app was to highlight the colony collapse issue happening around the world. The dramatic decrease in honey bee is alarming and through the application created, people can become informed on how they're effecting the honey bee population.
My designs for each individual screen remained consistant throughout the app. I didn't want to add too much and take away from the overall point of the application which was the bee population. For that reason I thought a clean layout worked best with the necessary animations taking place on each screen to highlight the important information. My designs focused mainly on imagery of bees, and flowers as they are the main pollen source for honey bees. Keeping the design clean with only the necessary fields I feel was a very effective approach.
As this was one of my first real introductions to Adobe After Effects, this project was challenging but the rewards far outweighed the cons. As this was such a good cause, I was honoured to be able to create something in to help raise awareness and learn about the seriousness of the issue myself.
